On Thursday November 8th, all TRES students are encouraged to “Mix up their Clothing.” Examples include: mismatched clothing items, crazy hair, silly socks, and different kinds of shoes. Students in 3rd-5th grade will participate in Mix it Up at Lunch Day, where they will participate in an event in the cafeteria encouraging them to sit with students outside of their typical seating arrangements.
Mix it Up at Day is an international campaign that encourages students to identify, question, and cross social boundaries. While, schools can register to host a Mix It Up day event on any day of the year, millions of students around the world participate on the official Mix it Up at Lunch Day, held in late October. Mix it Up Day can help the cafeteria be a more safe and inclusive place which can also continue to influence creating a positive school environment.
