Message from Dr. TRESler and Mrs. Moraff:

Dear Retriever Families,

We are thrilled to be celebrating another TRES staff member today! Mrs. Lauren Rifkin, our AMAZING reading specialist, was honored with the HCPSS Staff Excellence Award for Triadelphia Ridge! The award is given to a staff member for demonstrating exemplary work performance and a strong commitment to the mission, vision and values of the Howard County Public School System. We share the following text we submitted with her nomination:

Lauren Rifkin always demonstrates the criteria of value, achieve, connect, and she perfectly fits the description of empower. She is a valued member of our DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) team and always models asset thinking about our students. Additionally, she created and cultivated a DEI library for our school community. Mrs. Rifkin supports all teachers, even if she does not service students in their class, and goes out of her way to build relationships with staff. She does not set boundaries on her job description, and believes she serves all students, regardless of labels and programs. Mrs. Rifkin spends additional time getting to know her students as individuals and then weaves their interests into lessons, creating a sense of belonging and motivation. She is the ultimate professional and listens respectfully to other people’s opinions, even when they are different from her own. Mrs. Rifkin is always thinking about how she can make other people’s jobs easier, from helping a new teacher with planning, to helping with testing, and always being willing to problem solve with another teacher to help a student.

We are so proud to have Mrs. Rifkin at Triadelphia Ridge and we thank her for the dedication and passion she brings to us each day!

Warmly,
Dr. Tiffany TRESler, Principal TRES
Mrs. Heather  Moraff, Assistant Principal TRES

TRES PTA

Retriever Run Volunteers
The PTA has an URGENT NEED for Volunteer Course Marshals at the Retriever Run on Saturday, April 15th, from 9-11am.

A Course Marshal is a volunteer who is assigned a location along the 5K route and helps direct the runners, making sure they are on the correct side of the street.  In some locations course marshals may be asked to direct traffic (on smaller side streets, not major roads). The Howard County Police require at least 15 course marshals for our race to take place and we currently do not have any volunteers! Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

We ask that volunteers arrive at 8:30 a.m. for directions, spot assignments, and to pick up a safety vest and flag. There is a 9-11 a.m. window for the race, but you may leave your spot once the final runner/walker has passed your assigned post, so ending times may vary!
Pleas sign up HERE.

Retriever Run Registration

The Triadelphia Ridge Elementary School PTA is excited to host the Retriever Run Fundraiser for all students, families, and community members on Saturday, April 15th, at 9am. The Retriever Run is a 5K RUN/WALK. This will be a fun school-wide event meant to bring the community together, show school spirit, and promote fitness.  Participants may run or walk the course! Registration is $30 for adults and $20 for ages 18 and under. New registrations are not guaranteed a t-shirt. T-shirt and race bib pickup will be April 14th from 5:30-8:30pm at TRES. Register HERE.

Chat & Chew Wednesday, April 19th, 7pm

Come CHAT with current PTA members to hear how you can take a more active role next year as a PTA board member, committee chair, or committee member, and CHEW on some delicious desserts! We will meet in the TRES cafeteria.

Open Committee Chairs are: Retriever Rally, Trunk or Treat, Bingo, Yearbook, PTACHC Delegate, Volunteer Coordinator, Hospitality, Reflections, Community Outreach, Cultural Arts, Fundraising, and Staff Appreciation Co-chair.

Walking Wednesday Sign Up

Our fun-filled Walking Wednesdays Spring Season has kicked off! Walking Wednesdays is a PTA sponsored walking/running program fully led by volunteers that gets our kiddos' hearts beating faster as they run/walk for prizes during recess. It is a great opportunity to encourage our children to be active as well as set goals and meet them! Please consider volunteering via this SignUp Genius.

**PLEASE NOTE**   Volunteer Slots are now for one hour rather than a half hour as in previous years.

Reflections Update
