Dear Retriever Families,
We are looking forward to seeing everyone this morning during our new family welcome and open house events! The custodial crew has been working overtime to prepare the building to be a clean and welcoming learning environment! If you see them, please give them a big THANK YOU for all their hard work. Phase two of the roof replacement is finally complete, so they had to work around the construction all summer.
We had a busy summer finding and/or meeting our newest members of the staff family team! Please join us in welcoming the following new TRES staff:
We are still looking for one more lunch/recess monitor. Please email or call us if you are interested in learning more about the position. Daily hours are 10:45 a.m. -1:45 p.m.

Volunteer Training Required - Complete Now and Be Ready for the Year
NEW THIS YEAR, COMPLETE THIS GOOGLE DOC (no paperwork required). Anyone volunteering at school in any capacity, and parents joining their children for lunch, are required to complete volunteer training prior to their first visit. Thank you in advance for your gifts of service and time.
In order to establish routines during lunch periods, we will welcome parent/family lunch visits beginning October 1. Kindergarten asks that you wait until November 1. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Transportation
The online HCPSS bus locator application is now available and can be found on the HCPSS Transportation webpage. Please review your child’s bus number and be sure they know it and check before boarding a bus.
Changes to bus stop locations are made on an ongoing basis as routes are designed and/or revised. The location and times listed online include the most up to date information. Families are encouraged to recheck your child’s transportation prior to the start of school.
Change of Address
Please remember that families are required by Policy 9000 to notify us/HCPSS if you move to a new home address. Current residency documentation must be updated each time residency changes. Please call our front office if you anticipate moving or have recently moved and have not notified us.

Read And Earn A Sweet Treat
Nothing Bundt Cakes, located at 10730 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia, is offering a special incentive for elementary school students. “Books and Bundts” is a youth reading program through which students can earn a free Bundtlet beginning in September and continuing through May for each month they read 400+ minutes. Students should track their progress on this form and bring the completed tracker to the store to receive their sweet treat. Happy reading!
