Dear Retriever Families,
The students enjoyed sharing and receiving Valentines this week! It was great to see their joy coming into the building on February 14th, as they were excited to give to their peers. We have also been celebrating and learning about Black History Month.
We’d like to thank Mrs. Lebowitz, one of our G/T teachers, who teaches the Unheard Perspectives Instructional Seminar for 4th and 5th graders. The students who participated committed to learning more about an often unheard perspective of an innovator from history. This rigorous, performance-based program involves students researching and delving through primary sources. Students showcase their knowledge in a culminating presentation to volunteer adult judges from our community. Three presentations are then selected to move to the county level competition. If your child will be in 4th or 5th grade next school year, you may want to encourage them to participate.
We also would like to thank our reading specialist, Mrs. Rifkin, for all of the extra work she did to celebrate our student writers by hosting and organizing our TRES Young Authors' Contest and the upcoming Authors’ Tea. If your child did not participate this year, watch for information coming home next year.
In the last Retriever Report we shared about the Pre-K accreditation process. Our Pre-K team also deserves a special shout out and thank you for all of the hard work they are doing to support this rigorous process. We are thankful to lead a school full of amazing staff and teachers!
Warmly,
Dr. Tiffany TRESler, Principal TRES
Mr. Kory Hiel, Assistant Principal TRES

Field Day 2024 - Volunteer Sign Up Requested by March 22
We are excited to share that planning is underway for Field Day on May 10th, with a rain date of May 16th. This is an all-day event for students. More than 100 volunteers are needed for the day. Volunteers can sign up for the morning, afternoon, or all day. The morning shift is 8:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m., and the afternoon shift is 12:15 p.m. - 3:00 pm. We are asking anyone who plans to volunteer for the day to please register by March 22nd using the link below to allow our PE staff adequate planning time. If we do not have enough volunteers, we will make alternate plans, which would most likely reduce the event to a half day. Shortly after you complete the sign-up form, you will receive a confirmation note with your time slot. It will come home in your child’s folder.
For the safety of our students, all volunteers must complete both HCPSS required trainings linked below and submit by April 26th. Day of papers will not be accepted! These trainings must be completed each school year. If you have already completed and the front office has received your documents, you do not need to complete again. Thank you for your support! - -Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Harrison
