With classroom lessons, mascot visits, special videos, morning announcements, Kind Kid pledges, new bulletin boards, kindness chains, and more-- we've been smiling and BUSY celebrating Kindness Week at TRES. Our school climate has been upbeat and positive, but we acknowledge how very troubling it is to hear and see the news of another act of violence in an American school. We continue to keep Florida educators, students, and the community as a whole in our thoughts as they begin their journey toward healing and rebuilding. Thank You, TRES! Pennies for Patients was a Success!

The Pennies for Patients collection to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has been a great success! With your support and generosity, TRES has raised over $900 to help children and their families suffering from blood cancers and to fund research into these diseases. Thank you for all your help in creating a caring and supportive community at TRES!

This week and next, students schoolwide will be viewing a new February TRESmission, focusing on the "S" in T-R-E-A-S-U-R-E: Showing Strength of Heart. Students hear strategies about making positive friendship connections, staying respectful even through conflict, and speaking up if ever there is something of concern. Keep a look-out for a "KIND Kid" pledge page which will be coming home in conjunction with our launch of Kindness Week at TRES, Feb., 12-15.

Girls on the Run- Volunteers Needed

Girls on the Run (GOTR) is an awesome program that helps girls in 3rd-8th grades learn to love being active while also helping them gain valuable life skills. We want to bring this program back to TRES this spring but do that, we need some adult volunteers to help with coaching. You don't have to be a runner or trained coach to help out!
