Fri, 06/08/2018 - 11:34amIt's hard to believe, but the end of the school year is right around the corner! That means it is time to return all school library books. We still have 50 books out. Please check with your readers to see if s/he has any books out and help him/her gather them. All library books should be returned as soon as possible. If you have any questions about what books your readers might have checked out, email Ms. Royo at email@example.com and I will send you the title(s).
Thu, 06/07/2018 - 4:17pmDear TRES Community, I've recently been working with fifth grade students in preparation for the shift to middle school. Messages I've shared in recent weeks include, "Change can be hard, but you are ready." "A big part of handling transition well is with keeping a positive outlook." "Mistakes are okay as you learn along the way." "Ask for help when it's needed." Now, I find MYSELF prepping for change --- and I'm reminding myself of these very same growth messages! It is with mixed emotion that I write this letter to share the news of my upcoming move to southern Florida.
Thu, 06/07/2018 - 4:02pmThe end of another incredible school year is quickly coming to a close. This marks my 9th, and final, amazing year at TRES. Over the past 9 years I have experienced an outpouring of support from the community, students, and staff, I’ve taught entire families, I’ve watched students grow and amaze from Kindergarten to 5th grade, and I have been fortunate enough to develop a multitude of life-long relationships. It is with a heavy heart that I bid farewell to my TRES “family” and this infinitely talented group of young artists.
Thu, 06/07/2018 - 3:57pmAs you prep for summer, check out this article which offers one teacher's variation on the traditional "summer packet." Some tips from her include: "Teach your child to tie their shoes. Find a fun trick! Watch a video! Give an incentive! Be persistent! Just make sure your child isn’t the one dragging their laces through the bathroom and cafeteria then asking the teacher to tie it."

Mon, 06/04/2018 - 3:38pmAll student medications must be picked up a parent or responsible adult by 3:00 p.m. on June 19th in the Health Office. Any medications not picked up will be disposed of. As a reminder, parents will need a new medicine order if their student will take medication at school next year.
Sun, 06/03/2018 - 12:54pmRecently, we have had a number of parents who are leaving TRES with their children without stopping in the front office to sign them out. We are also experiencing parents who may be visiting one grade for a special event, interrupt instruction in other grades/classes to request a sibling from class for early dismissal. This hinders our ability to keep track of the children in the building in the event of an emergency.
