We live in a world surrounded by technology. We know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. But only a tiny fraction of us are learning computer science, and fewer students are studying it than a decade ago. That’s why next week students are learning about coding. The entire school will be participating in the worldwide Hour of Code event for Computer Science Education Week, December 3-7, 2018. Throughout the week, students will be engaged in online and unplugged coding activities. During the week, ask your child to share information about what he/she has learned about coding. As always, if you have any questions, please email Stacie_Walker@hcpss.org. We are looking forward to an exciting week of coding!
